This list details the primary people, organisations, government agencies and companies involved in the Hamersley Towers interference issue.

Politicians

The Hon Stephen Conroy MP - Australian Labor Party

The Minister for Communications is responsible for the Department of Broadband, Communications, and the Digital Economy. The Minister is also responsible for the ABC as well as the ACMA.

The Hon Michael Keenan MP - Liberal Party of Australia

He is local Federal Member for Stirling who represents the area where the signals are the strongest.

The Hon Luke Simpkins MP - Liberal Party of Australia

He is the Federal Member for Cowan which is in the North Eastern area of concern.

The Hon John Kobelke MLA - Australian Labor Party

State Member for Balcatta which, until recent boundary changes, covered the majority of the tower's worst affected residents.

The Hon Margaret Quirk MLA LLB - Australian Labor Party

State Member for Girrawheen which now covers half the footprint of the tower interference.

The Hon Janine Marie Freeman MLA - Australian Labor Party

State Member for Nollamara which now covers Westminster, Nollamara, Mirrabooka, Koondoola and Alexander Heights.

City of Stirling

    Department of Broadband, Communications, and the Digital Economy (DBCDE)

    This is the Commonwealth Government Department which is responsible for the Australian Communications and Media Authority.

    Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA)

    The ACMA is responsible to the DCITA. Its function is to regulate Radio, TV, and telecommunications including the Australian Internet. Part of the regulation function is to allocate station licences; along with their frequency (channels) allocations and program quality. ACMA is also responsible to police the spectrum for interference. ACMA is the merging of the Australian Broadcasting Authority (ABA) and the Australian Communications Authority (ACA).

    Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC)

    The ABC provides programs and hires Broadcast Australia Ltd for transmitter provision and maintenance.

    Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Authority (ARPANSA)

    ARPANSA is responsible for the health aspects of radiation and is part of the Commonwealth Department of Health.

    Private Interests

    Broadcast Australia Ltd (Wholly owned subsidiary of Macquarie Bank)

    Broadcast Australia is a major asset in the Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group (MCIG) Ltd. It has the contract to provide transmitter services to the ABC & others. As a result, they own not only the Hamersley Transmitters but also the ABC FM and TV transmitters in Bickley.
